Profile Leeds boss David O'Leary swooped for his second summer 2000 signing when he nabbed Australian international striker Mark Viduka from Glasgow Celtic for a fee in the region of £6M. O'Leary had been tracking the 24 year old powerfully built forward for some time, but finally got his man when Viduka made it clear that he wanted to move on to a higher test than the Scottish Premier League Voted the SPL Player of the Year for north of the border after scoring 27 goals in his first full season at Parkhead, Leeds fans will hope he can add the power and height up front, missing since the departure of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in July 1999. Mark started his career in Australia with Melbourne, before moving to Croatia Zagreb, who he left to move to Celtic for £3,5M in December 1998.
