OLIVIER DACOURT
Personal Stats DOB: 25th September 1974 Birthplace: Montreuil, France Height: 5'9"
Profile Leeds boss David O'Leary swooped to sign French midfielder Olivier Dacourt for a new club record £7.2m fee, just 24 hours after clinching third place in the Premiership and a place in the Champions League for the 2000/2001 season. The 25 year old tough tackling midfielder returns to English football after just one season back in France, having played for Everton before making the switch across the channel in the summer of 1999. Olivier will add steel and quality to the youthful Leeds midfield and his experience in helping Lens to the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup, will be a big boost to the United squad ahead of what looks to be a tough season ahead both domestically and in Europe. The one question mark seems to be how long Dacourt will reign as Leeds record signing, as more quality players look set to arrive at Elland Road over the summer.
